FAQ

Got questions?

Here are the ones I get asked most. If yours isn't here, just message me.

We meet over video call, usually Zoom or Google Meet. Your child joins from home, and I run the lesson in real time. It's fully interactive. We talk, discuss topics, do activities together. It's not watching a recording. Every lesson is live, one on one, and built around your child's level and interests. Most kids get comfortable with the format within the first session or two.

I work with kids from age 6 all the way to adults. My main focus is children and teenagers aged 6 to 16, but I also teach adults who want to improve their English for work or daily life. The approach is different for each age group, but the core idea is the same: speak from day one, think critically, and build real confidence.

Most tutors follow a textbook. I don't. Every lesson I build is personalized. I focus on getting students to actually think and communicate in English, not just memorize grammar rules. I also weave critical thinking into every topic, so students learn to form opinions, ask good questions, and express themselves clearly. It's more like mentoring than tutoring.

Yes. I offer focused preparation for Cambridge exams (PET, FCE, CAE) and IELTS. We cover all four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I use real exam materials, run timed practice sessions, and give detailed feedback. Two of my students recently passed Cambridge PET and CAE, so the approach works. I also help with test strategy and time management, which a lot of students struggle with.

From the first lesson. That's not a sales pitch, it's how I teach. Your child speaks English from minute one. In the first few weeks, you'll notice them forming fuller sentences and sharing opinions. By week 8 or so, most students are jumping into discussions without hesitation. The speed depends on how often we meet and how much practice happens between lessons, but the progress is real and parents notice it.

I think so, but I'm biased. Here's what I can say: in a private lesson, every minute is spent on your child. There's no waiting for other students, no falling behind or getting bored. I build the program around their exact level, goals, and interests. You get monthly progress reports with real data, not vague feedback. If you want real, measurable improvement in speaking and thinking, private lessons are the fastest way to get there.

Just a computer or tablet with a camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space. That's it. I handle everything else. We start with a free 30-minute trial where I assess your child's level and we talk about your goals. After that, I put together a personalized plan and we pick a regular weekly time. No textbooks to buy, no apps to download.

A single lesson is $30 USD (about NT$900). I offer packages of 4, 8, or 12 lessons with small discounts for larger packs. The first trial lesson is completely free, 30 minutes, no commitment. You can see the full breakdown on my pricing page. I keep it simple: no hidden fees, no contracts, no surprises.

Adults are welcome. I teach professionals who need English for work, meetings, presentations, or daily life. The lessons are conversational and practical. We focus on what you actually need, whether that's business communication, interview prep, or just getting more comfortable speaking. One of my current students is a banking professional in SΓ£o Paulo, and his English improved significantly in about six months.

That's what the free trial is for. We meet for 30 minutes, I talk with your child, check their level, and you see how I work. No pressure, no commitment. If it's not the right fit, no hard feelings. I'd rather you find the right teacher than sign up for something that doesn't work. And if you start lessons and decide to stop, there are no cancellation fees or penalties.
